Callie Kever

Callie Kever is the Director of Almanack Arts and has served in this capacity since the organization was founded in 2014 by John S Johnson and India Blake. Prior to 2014, Callie had been working with the Screenwriters Colony, AAC’s sister organization.  When John and India decided to expand the programming on the property at Almanack Pond Road beyond Screenwriting, John Johnson tapped her to lead the organization. She was tasked with developing and executing new programs that bring the mission and vision of Almanack Arts to life. 

Under her leadership, Almanack has developed several programs, including their flagship program, the Songwriters Colony, a Photography Colony, The Summer Residency and Concert Series, several solo artist-in-residence programs, the AAC commissioned short film project in collaboration with Manual Cinema, which has a release date of late 2024 and the Vinyl Project in partnership with Poulet Poulet Studio.

An actress at heart, Callie studied at The New Actors Workshop with Mike Nichols, Paul Sills, and George Morrison. She has a background in theatre, artist management, project management and is the co-owner of The Gaslight; a music venue and restaurant in the heart of downtown Nantucket.  Callie lives on Nantucket full-time with her husband and children.
